Chairman

Krishan Vasdani
Krishan Vasdani has been living in Canada since 1974. For the past twelve years, he has been actively involved within the Sindhi community, serving as membership director on the SCAT board for 4 years and treasurer on the GurMandir board for 3. In that same time period, he has been working for Clarica/Sunlife. Married to Rekha for the past 22 years, with three beautiful daughters- Nadiya, Tara & Jyoti, Krishan is a hard-working father that never quits. Dedicated to making GurMandir successful in its path, Krishan will continue to provide his best.

 

Vice Chairman

Kalyan Harpalani
Kalyan Harpalani was elected to the Gurmandir Temple board in September 2002, after retiring from Pratt & Whitney Canada where he worked as a Structures/Aerospace Engineer for more than 30 years. He put his best effort to ensure that, as much as possible, all the temple construction activities were performed efficiently ans were cost effictive. His wife, Mohina, is a physiotherapist and works at Trillium Health Centre.

 

Treasurer

Sher Motwani
Sher Motwani a Professional Engineer and President of A Manufacturing Company. Married for past 35 years, father of two daughters and has a 2 year old grandson. Sher's wife Meena is actively involved in all the activities of the Sindhi Community. Sher has been the Chairman of Gurmandir Board for past 6 years and has involved with the Sindhi Association for 10 years. Under his leadership, Toronto Sindhis organized a very successful Sindhi Sammelan in 1997, which was attended by more than 1000 Sindhi Delegates From around the world.

 

Secretary

Sonia Wadhwani
Sonia was one of the founding members of the Sindhi Cultural Association in Toronto. She has a Masters degree in Philosophy and works in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. She loves to sing. She is married to Satu Wadhwani and they have three beautiful children - Zenia, Jai and Lata. Both husband and wife along with their daughters have been heavily involved in the activities of Sindhi Association since its inception and are always ready to lend a helping hand. Sonia has been on GurMandir Board for the last two terms and loves to be involved in all GurMandir activities.

 

Programming - Youth/Special Events

Nanik Lakhani
Professional Engineer working as a Software Engineer;  married; Wife - Chandra; Son - Shailesh, Daughter - Nina; Living in Canada for the past 23 years. Part of Sadhu Vaswani Centre, Toronto.
Kavita Manyal
As an IT professional, Kavita has made Canada her home for the past 4 years.  She is a strong believer in our rich Sindhi cultural heritage and likes to keep it alive by working with our youth and children by inculcating respect and love for culture through activities and events that give children exposure and opportunity to experience it first hand. She has a very supportive spouse, Sanjay Manyal, and a lovely daughter, Anisha, who inspires and motivates her with her ideas and ethusiasm.

 

Fund Raising

Vinod Karna
Vinod came to Toronto 10 years back. Has taken keen interest in th Sindhi Community. Was programming director for SCAT in 2002-2004. He believes that despite our busy lifestyle, we must find time for Sindhi community by participating and contributing to it.
Dev Golani
I associate myself with Yoga and meditation for the personal well being. It is my privilege to serve as a member on the committee. This process will allow me to be useful and serve with joy for peace. Om Shanti.  

 

Programming

Ramesh Gogia
Ramesh Gogia has been living in Canada since 1998. For the past 5 years, he has been actively involved within the Sindhi community. Served as membership director on the SCAT board. for 2 years. Currently serving as Program Director on the GurMandir Board. Married to Bharati for the past 33 years, with one beautiful daughters- Poonam and Son – Pankaj. Motto is to serve the mankind. I shall put in my best effort to organize best programs for the Community and follow.
Mahesh Makhijani
I wish to be accepted by great Sindhi community associated with Gur Mandir, as a volunteer and to be of some service. Indian by birth, living physically in Canada for the past seven years after long first innings in the Middle East. Engineer by profession. Still waiting to be received as a bride by Him. Member of Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Toronto.
